Mother Shailputri (Daughter of Mountain) :
Shailputri - After self-immolation in Her form as Sati, the Mother Goddess took birth as the daughter of Lord Himalaya. In Sanskrit, Shail means "the mountain", due to which this form is known as Shailputri, the daughter of the Cosmic mountain. The Universe created the space and time in integrate manner being with Mahakal - Eternal Time and Shiva – Nothingness.
The first among nine Durgas and 1st night of Navratris is devoted to the puja of Shailputri . Her two hands display a trident and a lotus. Her mount is a bull.
Mantra -
वन्दे वाञ्छितलाभाय चन्द्रार्धकृतशेखराम्। वृषारुढां शूलधरां शैलपुत्रीं यशस्विनीम्॥
Meaning: I worship Goddess Shailputri to fulfill my wishes, who is adorned with crescent moon on her head, rides on a bull, carrying a trishul and is illustrious.
Among the nine Durgas, the Goddess is adored and worshipped, as the powers of Mother Shailputri are unlimited.
